GAIL's major pipeline nears completion by year-end 2025

GAIL (India) Limited's Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda Pipeline (MNJPL) project, a key part of the National Gas Grid, is nearing full commissioning by December 31, 2025. This 1,707 km natural gas pipeline, categorized as a high-impact project under the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan, aims to supply clean fuel to CGD and industrial sectors across 17 identified Geographical Areas. It traverses Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha.

Construction is complete in Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Madhya Pradesh. In Maharashtra, only 11 kilometres of the total pipeline remain to be constructed, with 1,440 km already prepared for gas-in. GAIL’s board of directors approved the decision to target full commissioning by the end of 2025 on September 24, 2025.
