Vedant Fashions pays fine for packaging violation

Vedant Fashions Limited announced on September 24, 2025, that it received a show cause notice from the Department of Legal Metrology (Weight & Measures), Agra, dated September 01, 2025. The notice cited an alleged violation of Section 18(1) of the Legal Metrology Act, 2009, concerning the packaging of a Kurta sold at one of its retail outlets. Specifically, the product's main display panel lacked the required blank space for the net quantity declaration and failed to disclose the date of manufacturing/packing.

In response, Vedant Fashions submitted a request on September 15, 2025, seeking to compound the offence. On the same date, the authority directed the company to deposit a compounding fee of ₹50,000. The company complied, depositing the fee on September 22, 2025, and formally notified the authority on September 23, 2025.

Vedant Fashions stated that, apart from the compounding fee, there is no other quantifiable impact on its financial, operational, or other activities. The notification was made pursuant to Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
