Piccadily Agro Industries secures interim injunction in trademark dispute

Piccadily Agro Industries Limited announced on September 24, 2025, that it has secured an interim injunction in a commercial suit filed against Radico Khaitan Limited. The suit, filed on July 30, 2025, in the District Court of Karnal, alleges infringement and passing off of Piccadily’s registered trademarks “CASHMERE” and “CASHMIR” for vodka products by Radico Khaitan Limited's use of the mark “KASHMYR.”

The District Court of Karnal, in an order and judgment dated September 23, 2025, granted the interim injunction. It restrains Radico Khaitan Limited, its subsidiaries, and affiliates from manufacturing, selling, advertising, promoting, or using the mark "KASHMYR" in isolation or in conjunction with other prefixes/suffixes/variants that are deceptively similar to Piccadily’s trademarks. This injunction will remain in effect until the final adjudication of the suit.

Piccadily Agro Industries Limited registered "CASHMERE" in 2015 and "CASHMIR" in 2023 for its luxury vodka products, launching "CASHMIR" vodka on May 23, 2025. Radico Khaitan Limited subsequently launched its "KASHMYR" vodka on July 28, 2025, which Piccadily claims is phonetically similar and likely to cause consumer confusion. The company anticipates no financial implication from this litigation.
