L&T and BEL partner for India's 5th-generation fighter aircraft program

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has formed a strategic partnership with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) to participate in the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) program for the Indian Air Force. The consortium will respond to the Expression of Interest issued by the government of India's Aeronautical Development Agency. This collaboration leverages L&T's expertise in strategic defense and aerospace platforms alongside BEL's experience in defense electronics and systems.

The partnership aims to advance India's defense capabilities, aligning with the "Atmanirbhar Bharat" vision by combining the strengths of the two leading defense technology providers. Both L&T and BEL have previously contributed to India's indigenous Light Combat Aircraft program, supplying aero-structure modules and developing mission-critical avionics and electronic systems.

L&T is a $30 bn Indian multinational engaged in EPC projects, hi-tech manufacturing, and services. BEL, a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Defence, reported annual sales of $2.74 bn during FY 2024-25, offering a diverse portfolio of over 600 defense and strategic electronics products and systems.
