Vodafone Idea faces new AGR hearing, GST penalty

Vodafone Idea announced that the Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing for September 26, 2025, concerning the company's challenge against additional Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) demands from the Department of Telecommunications. These demands relate to a period already covered by an existing AGR judgment.

Separately, the company disclosed the receipt of an order from the principal commissioner, Central GST, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. This order confirms a penalty of INR 6,47,13,708, along with tax and interest, stemming from alleged incorrect availment of CENVAT credit on capital goods.

Vodafone Idea stated that it disagrees with the GST order and intends to file an appeal. The maximum financial impact of this order is limited to the levied tax demand, interest, and penalty.
