SBI Card appoints Avinash Agrawal as new chief people officer

SBI Cards and Payment Services Ltd. (SBI Card) has announced a change in its senior management, with Anita Richard Sontumyra resigning from her position as chief people officer. Her resignation, effective September 18, 2025, is due to her repatriation to the State Bank of India.

The board of directors of SBI Card, in a resolution dated September 19, 2025, approved the appointment of Avinash Agrawal as the new chief people officer, effective September 19, 2025. This appointment follows the recommendation of the nomination and remuneration committee.

Mr. Agrawal, a deputy general manager with the State Bank of India, brings over 30 years of diverse experience in the banking sector. He previously held significant roles, including deputy general manager-business solutions at the corporate centre in Mumbai and DGM-IT at GITC Belapur. He holds a postgraduate degree in economics, an MBA in finance, and is a certified associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB).
