Graphite India acquires 6.82% stake in GrafTech International for ₹168.13 crores

Graphite India Limited has disclosed its acquisition of a 6.82% stake in GrafTech International Ltd., a NYSE-listed company. The investment was made through secondary market transactions under the Foreign Exchange Management (Overseas Investment) Rules, 2022. The total investment for this acquisition amounts to ₹168.13 crores.

GrafTech International, with a market capitalization of $327.85 million, is a leading manufacturer of graphite electrode products used in electric arc furnace steel production. The acquisition is not considered a related-party transaction.

GrafTech's recent financial performance includes a turnover of $538,782 thousand for FY ended December 31, 2024, $620,500 thousand for FY ended December 31, 2023, and $1,281,250 thousand for FY ended December 31, 2022. Graphite India Limited has also filed the necessary information with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.
