TNPL: Board exodus, auditor change mark new era.

Tamil Nadu Newsprint And Papers Limited (TNPL) held a board meeting on Thursday, September 18, 2025. The board approved the appointment of M/s. A. John Moris & Co., Chartered Accountants, as the statutory auditors for the financial year 2025-26. This appointment, made by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, is for a tenure of one year. M/s. A. John Moris & Co., established in 1996, provides professional services including audit, assurance, and related services, with a head office in Chennai, 23 branches across India, and 31 partners.

Additionally, the company announced the completion of terms for two independent directors. Dr. M. Arumugam and Thiru P. B. Santhanakrishnan ceased to be independent directors upon finishing their second consecutive three-year terms at the close of business hours on September 18, 2025.

Consequently, Dr. M. Arumugam also relinquished his roles as chairman of the risk management committee and the corporate social responsibility committee. Thiru P. B. Santhanakrishnan ceased to be the chairman of the audit committee of the board. No relationships between directors were disclosed, and neither director held any shares in the company.
