Suzlon Energy hit with GST penalty, plans recovery from transporter

Suzlon Energy Limited announced on September 18, 2025, that the state tax officer – GST, Mobile Squad Jamnagar, Gujarat, has levied a penalty of INR23.14 Lacs against the company. This penalty stems from contraventions of e-way bill provisions under the GST Act, 2017, described as procedural in nature.

The company intends to appeal the order with the appropriate authorities. Crucially, Suzlon Energy plans to recover the entire penalty amount of INR23,14,372 from the "erring transporter" responsible for the violations.

As a result of this planned recovery, Suzlon Energy asserts there will be no impact on the financial, operational, or other activities of the company. The notification was issued to both the National Stock Exchange of India Limited and BSE Limited.
