Supreme court upholds Tilaknagar's exclusive "Mansion House," "Savoy Club" brand rights

Tilaknagar Industries Ltd. announced today that the Supreme Court of India, via an order dated September 16, 2025, upheld the Bombay High Court's decision, dismissing special leave petitions filed by Herman Jansen Beverages Nederland B.V. and Allied Blenders & Distillers Private Limited. This ruling affirms Tilaknagar's exclusive right to manufacture and market alcoholic beverages under the "Mansion House" and "Savoy Club" brands in India.

The Supreme Court's order means that Herman Jansen Beverages Nederland B.V. and Allied Blenders & Distillers Private Limited remain restrained from using or launching these brands in India. Tilaknagar Industries will continue its uninterrupted, exclusive use and sale of these brands.

Additionally, the Supreme Court has directed the trial court to conclude the trial of the ongoing suit and counter-claim within six months from the next hearing date. The court emphasized that the trial court should decide the case based on evidence and its own merits, without influence from observations made in the impugned order.
