ONGC re-appoints Praveen Khanooja as government nominee director

The board of directors of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), at its meeting held on September 18, 2025, approved the re-appointment of Praveen Mal Khanooja as a government nominee director. Khanooja, who serves as additional secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoP&NG), will serve a new term of three years effective from September 22, 2025. This re-appointment is on a co-terminus basis or until further orders, as per a communication from MoP&NG.

Praveen M. Khanooja is an experienced professional, currently holding the position of additional secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. He holds a bachelor of technology in chemical engineering and a master of technology in management & systems. A member of the 1994 batch of the Indian Audit & Accounts Service (IA&AS), his career includes diverse roles in defence audit, railways audit, state government accounts & audit, and various postings at CAG Headquarters. He has also conducted numerous compliance and performance audits for international organizations and served as a mentor for IT audit officers from several Asian countries.

The board meeting confirmed that Khanooja is not debarred from holding office by any SEBI Order or other authority. The re-appointment details and Khanooja’s profile are in line with Regulation 30 of SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015. There are no disclosed relationships between Khanooja and other directors.
