Escorts Kubota launches new combine harvester in Punjab and Haryana

Escorts Kubota Limited has introduced the 'PRO588i-G' combine harvester under the Kubota brand in Punjab and Haryana, according to a press release dated September 17, 2025. This new harvester is designed to cut crop stalks near the base, allowing for the collection and reuse of the full length of straw. This offers farmers a profitable alternative to stubble burning and could reduce air pollution.

A key feature of the PRO588i-G is its special threshing mechanism, engineered in Japan, which significantly reduces the breakage of fragile long-grain Basmati rice during threshing. This innovation is expected to boost the rice's appeal, increase its price, and improve export potential. Additionally, the new harvester weighs only 2,700 kilograms, significantly less than conventional harvesters at around 9,000 kilograms, which helps reduce soil compaction and land preparation costs. It is also equipped with crawlers for easier operation in wet fields and features an ergonomic design for prolonged work hours.
