Akzo Nobel India promoter stake sale to JSW Paints cleared by CCI

Akzo Nobel India Limited has confirmed that the Competition Commission of India (CCI) approved the proposed acquisition of its promoter entities' shareholding by JSW Paints Limited. This approval was received on September 16, 2025, and subsequently notified to Akzo Nobel India on September 17, 2025.

This development follows an earlier disclosure dated June 27, 2025, regarding a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA). Under the SPA, Imperial Chemical Industries Limited and Akzo Nobel Coatings International B.V., the promoter entities of Akzo Nobel India, agreed to sell their entire shareholding in the company to JSW Paints Limited.

The transaction was subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the SPA, including the crucial approval from the Competition Commission of India.
