Tata Technologies to appeal ₹4m tax demand

Tata Technologies Limited announced on September 16, 2025, that it has received an order from the Office of The Assistant Commissioner of Central Tax, Pimpri, demanding ₹2,009,199 in tax, plus an equal amount in interest and penalty, totaling ₹4,018,398. The demand stems from the rejection of input tax credit (ITC) under Section 16(2) of the CGST Act, 2017. This is due to allegations that the vendor failed to submit GSTR 3B returns for the relevant period.

The company stated that it is in the process of filing an appeal against the order, received on September 8, 2025. Tata Technologies maintains that the ITC was correctly availed in accordance with GST provisions and intends to pursue appeals with higher forums.

Despite the demand, Tata Technologies confirmed that the amount, including interest and penalty, does not have a material impact on the company's financials, operations, or other activities.
