Tata Power subsidiary partners with Suzlon for 838 MW wind energy projects

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited, has signed a contract with Suzlon Group for the supply of wind turbine generators totaling 838 MW. These turbines will support TPREL's wind energy projects across multiple states, with completion expected over the next few years. This partnership aims to strengthen TPREL's role in achieving India's target of 500 GW renewable energy capacity by 2030.

The agreement marks the third strategic collaboration between TPREL and Suzlon, reflecting a decade-long partnership. TPREL's wind energy portfolio currently exceeds 3.9 GW, with over 1 GW operational and the remainder in various development stages across states including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.

This initiative contributes to Tata Power's overarching goal of achieving 100% clean energy by 2045. The company's expanding renewable energy portfolio currently totals 15.7 GW, with 6.9 GW sourced from clean energy.
