Crompton Greaves appoints Sundaram Damodarannair as new chairman

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Limited, in its board meeting held on September 15, 2025, approved the appointment of Sundaram Damodarannair as an additional non-executive, non-independent director and subsequently as the chairman of the board, effective September 18, 2025. This appointment is for a term until he reaches 75 years of age, or April 15, 2028, subject to member approval. Damodarannair’s previous two terms as a non-executive, independent director concluded on September 17, 2025.

Following this appointment, the board also approved the reconstitution of its audit, nomination & remuneration, stakeholders’ relationship, corporate social responsibility, and risk management committees. Damodarannair will now serve as a member on these committees.

The board additionally approved a postal ballot notice seeking member consent for Damodarannair's appointment and ratified the board diversity policy to enhance governance, aligning with SEBI LODR Regulations. Damodarannair, with extensive experience in corporate finance and management, is not related to any other director of the company.
