Avadh Sugar appoints Chandra Shekhar Nopany as managing director, co-chairperson

Avadh Sugar & Energy Limited has appointed Chandra Shekhar Nopany as managing director, also designated as co-chairperson, for a five-year term from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2030. The appointment was approved by the company's members through a special resolution detailed in a postal ballot notice dated August 4, 2025. The company confirmed that Nopany is not debarred from holding the office by any regulatory authority.

Nopany is a chartered accountant and holds a masters degree in science of industrial administration from Carnegie Mellon University. His extensive experience spans diverse industries including sugar, tea, shipping, textiles, fertilizers, and chemicals. He previously served as president of the Indian Chamber of Commerce.

The company also disclosed that Chandra Shekhar Nopany is related to Nandini Nopany, the current chairperson, as her son. All necessary disclosures regarding this appointment have been made in accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
