United Breweries to pay environmental compensation for alleged violations

United Breweries Limited announced on September 11, 2025, that it has received a directive from the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (RSPCB). The directive mandates the company to deposit an environmental compensation of ₹33,98,438 based on the Polluter Pays Principle. This amount is to be paid to the Regional Office of the RSPCB at Bhiwadi.

The compensation stems from alleged violations of the Water Act and Air Act by the company's brewery located at Chopanki, Rajasthan. The company is currently reviewing the notice.

Despite the directive, United Breweries Limited stated that it does not anticipate any financial impact on its operations. The company reaffirmed its commitment to operating at the highest standards.
