Lodha to build green integrated data centre park in Maharashtra

Macrotech Developers Limited (formerly Lodha Developers Limited) announced an MoU with the Maharashtra government to develop a Green Integrated Data Centre Park in Palava. This initiative, following state approval of such parks in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, positions Lodha as a key developer for various data centre players. The project is expected to attract a total proposed investment of INR 30,000 crores and create 6,000 direct and indirect jobs.

The park is designed with a planned capacity of 2 GWs and will host multiple leading international and domestic players. This development aligns with the Maharashtra government's "Thrust Area" declaration for Integrated Data Centres and its Green Integrated Data Centre Parks policy, which mandates the use of green and alternative energy sources.

Abhishek Lodha, managing director and chief executive of Lodha Developers Ltd, highlighted that the partnership will boost Maharashtra's and India's economy while operating on clean energy sources. Lodha aims for net-zero operations in the coming years and is committed to India becoming a global leader in data centres by 2047.
