Jupiter Wagons’ subsidiary bags ₹113 crore Indian Railways order

Jupiter Wagons Limited announced today that its unlisted subsidiary, Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory Private Limited (JTRFPL), has received a letter of acceptance (LOA) dated September 9, 2025, from the Ministry of Railways. The order, valued at approximately ₹113 crore, is for the supply of 9,000 LHB Axles for FIAT-IR Bogies. This contract reinforces Jupiter Wagons' role as a key supplier of critical components for modern Indian passenger coaches.

This order is expected to strengthen India's passenger rail ecosystem and aligns with the government's objective of modernizing rail transport. The precision-engineered axles are vital for enhancing the performance, safety, and durability of Indian Railways' high-speed LHB coach fleet. The Aurangabad facility currently produces 10,000 wheelsets annually.

As part of a long-term strategy, the company is investing ₹2,500 crore to establish a world-class forged axle and wheel manufacturing facility in Odisha. This new facility, anticipated to be operational by 2027, will produce 100,000 forged wheelsets annually for both domestic and international markets, including the EU. This initiative aims to reduce import dependency and strengthen India's domestic manufacturing capabilities, supporting the "Make in India" vision.
