JSW Energy commissions 317 MW RE capacity, boosts renewables share

JSW Energy Limited has commissioned 317 MW of renewable energy capacity, increasing its total installed capacity to 13,097 MW. The new capacity includes 240 MW of hydro, 34 MW of solar, and 43 MW of wind power, raising the share of renewables in the company's total capacity to 57%. This addition positions JSW Energy to capitalize on the peak renewable generation season.

Following the capacity expansion, India Ratings and Research (Ind-Ra) has affirmed an 'IND A/Stable' rating on the debt facilities of JSW Renewable Energy (Cement) Limited, a step-down subsidiary. JSW Energy now boasts a total locked-in generation capacity of 30.3 GW, with 13.1 GW operational and 12.7 GW under construction across thermal and renewable sources, alongside a 4.6 GW pipeline. The company aims for 30 GW generation and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by FY 2030, with a target of Carbon Neutrality by 2050.
