GAIL arbitration: Focus Energy files Rs 529.32 crore counter claims

GAIL (India) Limited announced an update on its arbitration proceedings against Focus Energy Limited, iServices Investment Limited, and Newbury Oil Company Limited, which pertain to an unadjusted balance annual take-or-pay amount.

On September 8, 2025, Focus Energy and the other parties served their Statement of Defence and Counter Claim, with document access provided on September 9, 2025. In their Statement of Defence, Focus Energy Limited and its associates denied all claims made by GAIL.

Furthermore, Focus Energy and its associates have initiated counter claims amounting to Rs. 529.32 Crores, plus interest, against GAIL. This development marks a significant turn in the ongoing arbitration.
