Eicher Motors subsidiary passes GST reduction benefits to customers

Eicher Motors Limited announced that its unlisted subsidiary, VE Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV), will pass on the full benefit of reduced GST rates to customers. Effective September 22, 2025, Eicher customers purchasing new vehicles will experience lower acquisition costs. The GST rate for diesel, CNG, and LNG range vehicles has been reduced from 28% to 18%, while electric range vehicles continue to enjoy a 5% GST rate.

This initiative is expected to reduce prices for customers by up to INR 6 lakhs. Specifically, light and medium duty (LMD) trucks will see a price reduction of INR 1.0 to INR 2.0 lakhs, heavy duty (HD) trucks from INR 1.5 to INR 6.0 lakhs, and buses from INR 1.1 to INR 3.4 lakhs.

VECV aims to enable greater efficiencies across the transport ecosystem, helping fleet operators, small businesses, and owner-drivers reduce their total cost of ownership (TCO), improve profitability, and invest in future-ready vehicles.
