John Cockerill India secures major contract for tunnel furnaces

John Cockerill India Limited has secured a contract from JSW JFE Electrical Steel Nashik Private Limited for the engineering, design, manufacture, and supply of high-temperature tunnel furnaces. This project, targeting completion in the first quarter of 2027, will quintuple JSW JFE Electrical Steel Nashik’s Cold Rolled Grain-Oriented (CRGO) steel production capacity from 50,000 TPA to 250,000 TPA.

The contract scope includes the supply of all tunnel furnace components, advanced coil handling systems, and supervision of erection and commissioning to ensure performance guarantees. This expansion aligns with India's increasing demand for energy-efficient electrical infrastructure and strengthens John Cockerill India's position as a key technology partner in the steel industry.
