Sudarshan Pharma gets PLI scheme location and timeline extension

Sudarshan Pharma Industries Ltd announced on September 8, 2025, that it has received approval for a change in location and an extension of the scheduled commercial operation date under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Bulk Drugs. The greenfield projects, initially planned for MIDC, Maharashtra, will now be established in GIDC, Gujarat.

The Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, granted approval to extend the scheduled commercial operation date for Vitamin B1 (chemical synthesis route) and Vitamin B6 projects. These projects, originally set for commissioning by August 30, 2023, and March 31, 2024, and then extended to March 31, 2025, are now required to be commissioned by December 31, 2027. This decision follows a request from Sudarshan Pharma citing local resistance issues at the previous location.

The company's incentive claim period has also been extended, subject to approval, to March 2031 for projects using existing facilities and to March 2032 for greenfield projects. All other criteria for claiming the incentive remain unchanged as per the scheme guidelines.
