HUDCO appoints Baldeo Purushartha as government nominee director

HUDCO’s board of directors, through a circulation resolution on September 8, 2025, has approved the appointment of Baldeo Purushartha as a government nominee director, effective immediately. This appointment follows an order from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) dated August 26, 2025. Purushartha currently serves as the joint secretary for the infrastructure policy and planning division within the Department of Economic Affairs.

Purushartha does not hold any shares in HUDCO and is not related to any other directors on the company’s board. Furthermore, he is not debarred from holding a director's office by any SEBI order or other authority. His brief profile highlights his extensive experience as a 2002 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, having held various field and secretariat positions in the governments of Punjab and India. He also represents the Government of India on the boards of several Central Public Sector Enterprises, including Indian Railway Station Development Corporation Ltd. and National Investment and Infrastructure Fund Trustee Limited.

Holding a postgraduate degree from the University of Delhi, Purushartha has significantly contributed to infrastructure-related policy, including shaping various books on Public-Private Partnerships (PPP). His work includes reference guides for setting up State PPP Units, PPP Project Appraisal, and Project Implementation Mode Selection. He has also authored numerous articles on Infrastructure & PPP in various magazines.
