Hero MotoCorp names Harshavardhan Chitale new CEO

Hero MotoCorp announced the appointment of Harshavardhan Chitale as its new chief executive officer, effective Monday, January 5, 2026. The board of directors approved this change at a meeting held on Monday, September 8, 2025. Upon Mr. Chitale's appointment, Vikram Kasbekar will relinquish his role as acting chief executive officer but will continue to serve on the board as executive director and chief technology officer.

Mr. Chitale brings over three decades of global leadership experience across B2B and B2C sectors, with expertise in industrial automation, lighting, information technology services, and digital transformation. His previous roles include global CEO of Signify's €4 billion professional business and vice chairman & managing director of Philips Lighting India. An alumnus of IIT Delhi, he is also an active angel investor in EVs, clean energy, health-tech, and agri-tech.
