Cisco, Tata Communications partner for global eSIM, IoT connectivity

Tata Communications has announced a strategic collaboration with Cisco to enhance global enterprise IoT deployments. The partnership will integrate Tata Communications MOVE™, an eSIM orchestration solution managing over 350m eSIM operating systems, into Cisco's IoT Control Center, which supports over 270m SIM IoT devices, including 100m connected cars, for more than 32,000 enterprises.

This collaboration is set to simplify the activation and management of devices across various SIM providers, private, and public networks, thereby accelerating time-to-market, reducing integration efforts, and providing enhanced control over IoT deployments. The initiative addresses challenges such as fragmented SIM hardware, complex device provisioning, and a lack of interoperability, which have historically hindered the scaling of IoT initiatives.

According to Marco Bijvelds, vice president and global head of Tata Communications MOVE™, this partnership aims to empower global businesses to streamline operations and accelerate digital transformation. Masum Mir, sVP and gM, Cisco Provider Mobility, emphasized the foundational role of eSIM technology in managing increasingly complex IoT use cases, particularly for connected vehicles.
