Swelect Energy Systems announces leadership shake-up, new CEO & managing director

Swelect Energy Systems' board of directors, at a meeting on September 4, 2025, approved several key leadership changes. R Chellappan, previously managing director, has been redesignated as whole time director and vice-chairman for a five-year term, with remuneration approved for three years. Concurrently, Dr. Arulkumar Pudur Shanmugasundaram has been appointed as CEO & managing director for five years, also with remuneration approved for three years.

Additionally, A Balan has been redesignated as whole time director (joint managing director) for a five-year term, and G S Samuel has been appointed as a non-executive, non-independent director (additional director). These changes are effective September 4, 2025, and are subject to member approval.

As a result of these board changes, Dr. Arulkumar Pudur Shanmugasundaram will join several key committees, including the borrowing, forex management, investment, CSR, risk management, share allotment, and transfer committees.
