STL launches slimmest IBR cable for US hyperscalers

Sterlite Technologies Inc. (STI), a US subsidiary of Sterlite Technologies Limited, announced the launch of the world's slimmest Intermittent Bonded Ribbon (IBR) cable, featuring 864 fibers. This new Celesta IBR cable, with a diameter of only 11.7 mm, is optimized for jetting in a 14mm inner diameter duct and targets data center operators, hyperscalers, and telecom service providers in the United States.

The cable incorporates STL's bend-insensitive HD G.657.A2 200-micron fiber and has demonstrated a record jetting performance of approximately 4,700 ft (1500+ m) in under 20 minutes. It meets ICEA 122-744 standards, is GR 20 compliant, and can be installed in a 14/18 mm micro subduct.

STL's IBR cable portfolio ranges from 12F to 6912F. The company has delivered over 10 million fkm to customers across Europe and the United States over the past five years, leveraging 10 manufacturing facilities in North America, Europe, and Asia.
