Great Eastern Shipping adds new Kamsarmax dry bulk carrier to fleet

Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited (GESHIP) has contracted to purchase a Kamsarmax dry bulk carrier of approximately 81,922 dwt, built in 2016. This vessel is anticipated to join the company’s fleet by Q3 FY26, with the acquisition financed entirely through internal accruals. The addition of this vessel is part of the company's fleet expansion strategy.

Currently, Great Eastern Shipping’s owned fleet comprises 38 vessels, including 26 tankers and 12 dry bulk carriers, totaling 3.04 million dwt. The company’s capacity utilization is presently near 100%. This latest acquisition follows recent contracts to purchase one secondhand Kamsarmax dry bulk carrier and one Suezmax crude carrier, both also expected by Q3 FY26.

Upon the delivery of these three vessels, Great Eastern Shipping's total fleet will increase to 41 vessels, aggregating 3.37 million dwt.
