Tata Motors sees mixed sales in August 2025

Tata Motors recorded total sales of 73,178 units in August 2025 across domestic and international markets, an increase from 71,693 units in August 2024. This was primarily fueled by a 10% year-on-year (YoY) rise in total commercial vehicle (CV) sales to 29,863 units. CV International Business notably surged by 77% YoY.

Conversely, total passenger vehicle (PV) sales, including EVs, experienced a modest 3% YoY decline, totaling 43,315 units. Domestic PV sales alone fell by 7% YoY to 41,001 units. However, electric vehicles showed remarkable growth, with EV (IB + Domestic) sales climbing 44% YoY to 8,540 units, marking the highest-ever monthly sales driven by consumer confidence in green mobility.

Commercial vehicle segments such as ILMCV Trucks and HCV Trucks also posted strong performances, growing 15% and 5% YoY, respectively. Passenger Carriers and SCV cargo and pickup segments also saw modest gains.
