Escorts Kubota reports strong tractor sales, dip in construction equipment

Escorts Kubota Limited reported a robust 27.1% increase in tractor sales for August 2025, with 8,456 units sold compared to 6,652 in August 2024. Domestic tractor sales rose by 26.6% to 7,902 units, supported by favorable rural conditions, timely monsoon, and an early festive season. Export tractor sales also climbed by 35.5%, reaching 554 units. For the April-August (5M) period, total tractor sales grew by 5.0% to 46,191 units.

In contrast, the company's construction equipment division experienced a downturn, selling 375 machines in August 2025, a 4.6% decrease from 393 units in August 2024. The construction equipment industry faced challenges including widespread monsoon, project delays, and cost increases due to new emission norms, leading to subdued demand.

The company anticipates a gradual recovery in the construction equipment sector as the monsoon season ends, driven by improved policy support and infrastructure development. The reported volumes for both segments include sales numbers from amalgamating companies, following approval of their scheme of amalgamation on August 29, 2024.
