Gujarat State Petronet: Restructuring Sparks Sustainability & Performance Report

Gujarat State Petronet Limited (GSPL) has published its 27th Annual Report, which includes the Business Responsibility & Sustainability Report for FY 2024-25. The company's core business involves natural gas transmission, accounting for 97.26% of its turnover, supplemented by electricity generation through windmills contributing 2.74%. During FY 2024-25, GSPL transported approximately 11,032 MMSCM of natural gas and operates a 52.50 MW wind power project. The company's total paid-up capital stands at INR 564.21 crores, with a turnover of INR 1110.79 Cr and a net worth of INR 10787.35 Cr as of March 31, 2025.

The report highlights GSPL's employee statistics, with 422 total employees, of whom 387 are male (91.71%) and 35 are female (8.29%). For permanent employees, health insurance coverage is 100%, accident insurance is 100%, and maternity benefits cover 11% of total permanent employees. The company's median remuneration for key managerial personnel (KMP) was INR 56.9 Lacs for males and INR 72.4 Lacs for females in FY 2024-25. Gross wages paid to females constituted 9.71% of total wages.

In terms of environmental performance, GSPL recorded total energy consumption of 62,464.79 GJ for FY 2024-25, down from 1,85,794.38 GJ in the previous year. The energy intensity per rupee of turnover was 0.0000056235 GJ/₹. Total water withdrawal in FY 2024-25 was 38,822 kiloliters, primarily from groundwater (15,456 kiloliters) and third-party sources (23,366 kiloliters). The company also reported 63.34 metric tonnes of total waste generated. GSPL maintains a zero liquid discharge system and has implemented various initiatives to conserve energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
