Adani Power secures 800 MW thermal power project in Madhya Pradesh

Adani Power Limited has been awarded a Letter of Award (LoA) by MP Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL) for an 800 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power project. The plant will be developed in Anuppur District, Madhya Pradesh, under a Design, Build, Finance, Own, and Operate (DBFOO) model, with fuel sourced from a utility-arranged coal linkage under the SHAKTI Policy. The project involves an investment of approximately INR 10,500 Cr and aims to address Madhya Pradesh's increasing electricity demand.

Adani Power emerged as one of the lowest bidders with a final tariff of Rs 5.838 per KWh. The company will supply power from the new unit, which is expected to be commissioned within 54 months of the appointed date. This project is anticipated to create 6,000–7,000 direct and indirect jobs during construction and around 1,000 jobs during operation.

This is Adani Power's fourth major power supply order in the last 12 months, following similar awards from Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar governments. The company's total installed thermal power capacity stands at 18,110 MW across twelve power plants, alongside a 40 MW solar power plant.
