Protean secures major Aadhaar service center contract worth ₹1,370 crore

Protean eGov Technologies Limited announced on August 28, 2025, a six-year contract win worth ₹1,370 crore (inclusive of GST) from UIDAI. This mandate involves establishing and operating district-level Aadhaar Seva Kendras (ASKs) in 188 districts across India. These centers are crucial for Aadhaar enrollment, biometric and demographic updates, and other related services, supporting UIDAI's mission. The company anticipates revenue generation from this project to commence from Q3 onwards, scaling fully within 6-12 months.

This managed services contract ties revenue to a per-transaction model, expected to be evenly spread over the six-year term, adjusted for inflation every two years. Protean expects these 188 centers to be exclusive Aadhaar Seva Kendras, operating on an OPEX cost model with minimal CAPEX, primarily covering real estate and manpower. The company stated the business will contribute approximately ₹180-190 crore in annual revenues and will be EBITDA-accretive.

Protean shares this mandate with BLS International, covering a total of 471 districts across India; Protean secured 188 districts, while BLS was allocated 60% of the total. This win positions Protean as a key contributor to two critical national IDs, strengthening its partnership with UIDAI and expanding its distribution footprint alongside its existing PAN and pension services networks.
