Marsons boosts transformer manufacturing capacity to 10,000 MVA

Marsons Limited has expanded its annual manufacturing capacity to 10,000 MVA, effective August 28, 2025. This expansion positions the company among the larger transformer manufacturers in India by installed capacity and is driven by the company's existing order book and anticipated demand across multiple segments.

The expansion includes increased capabilities in EHV transformers, addressing demand from state utilities, independent power producers, and industrial customers. Current projects include a 160 MVA, 220 kV class transformer for Inox, and 50 MVA and 80 MVA, 132 kV class transformers for West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company (WBSETCL).

Furthermore, Marsons has entered the inverter duty transformer (IDT) and wind turbine generator (WTG) segments, with ongoing supplies to independent power producers (IPPs) and MAHAGENCO, as well as WTG transformers for Inox Wind. Within the medium power segment, the 10 MVA rating represents the highest volume of execution, with supplies to state utilities in Maharashtra, Bihar, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh.
