CG Semi opens India's first end-to-end OSAT facility

CG Semi Private Limited, a subsidiary of CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited, has announced the inauguration of its first Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facility in Sanand, Gujarat, on August 28, 2025. This launch positions CG Semi as one of India's first full-service OSAT providers, offering solutions for both traditional and advanced packaging technologies, and marks a significant step towards India's semiconductor self-reliance.

The company, supported by central and state governments and in collaboration with Renesas and Stars Microelectronics, is investing over ₹7,600 crore over five years to develop two state-of-the-art facilities, G1 and G2. The G1 facility, inaugurated today, will operate at a peak capacity of approximately 0.5 million units per day and is expected to commence commercial production in calendar year 2026.

The second facility, G2, is currently under construction and is anticipated to be completed by the end of calendar year 2026, scaling up to a capacity of approximately 14.5 million units per day. Both facilities are projected to create over 5,000 direct and indirect jobs.
