Nectar Lifesciences appeals rejection of INR 35.01m export duty refund

Nectar Lifesciences Ltd. announced an update on litigation concerning a rejected refund claim from the assistant commissioner, Central Goods & Service Tax, Derabassi Mohali (Punjab). The dispute stems from the company's inability to fulfill export obligations tied to an advance license, despite having paid the duties with interest for closure of these licenses. The company had subsequently applied for a refund of the paid duties.

The company received an order-in-original (OIO) on August 26, 2025, from the assistant commissioner, rejecting the refund claimed, which amounts to INR 350,184,29. Nectar Lifesciences is now in the process of filing an appeal against this order with the commissioner (appeals).

Should the appeal be decided in Nectar Lifesciences' favor, the company anticipates receiving a refund of approximately INR 3.50 crore.
