3M India reports strong growth, generous dividend recommendation

3M India Limited held its 38th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on August 26, 2025, announcing a robust financial performance for the year ended March 31, 2025. The company reported revenues of INR 4446 crores, marking a 6.1% growth over the previous year. Profit before tax marginally declined by 1% to INR 773 crores, attributed to increased investments in sales and marketing. After tax, profit stood at INR 575 crores, with a PAT margin of 12.7%. The first quarter of FY 2025-26 also saw continued momentum, with revenues reaching INR 1196 crores, a 14.3% increase year-on-year, and a profit before tax of INR 239 crores, up 13.5%.

The board recommended a total dividend of Rs. 535/- per equity share, comprising a final dividend of Rs. 160/- and a special dividend of Rs. 375/- per equity share. The company noted strategic investments in market presence, sales and marketing headcount, and advertising as key drivers for improved year-on-year growth rates across its four business segments: Safety & Industrial (32% of revenue mix), Transportation & Electronics (38%), Healthcare (19%), and Consumer (11%). Healthcare led segment growth at 13.7%.

During the AGM, members also approved the adoption of financial statements, re-appointment of Kong Sau Wai Elizabeth as a director, and several special businesses including material related party transactions and royalty payments to 3M Company, USA. The meeting also addressed changes to the board of directors, including the retirement of Bharat Shah and Biren Gabhawala, and welcomed new independent and non-executive directors.
