Zomato faces $175,000 tax demand from UP authorities

Eternal Limited (formerly Zomato) received a GST demand of INR 14,76,071 from Uttar Pradesh tax authorities, along with interest and an equivalent penalty of INR 14,76,071.

The demand relates to alleged short payment of tax collected at source and output tax for the 2020-2021 financial year. The company plans to appeal the order and expects no financial impact.
