Dwarikesh Sugar swings to smaller loss despite crushing halt

Dwarikesh Sugar Industries reported a smaller loss of INR 93.8m in Q1 FY26, improved from INR 97.3m loss the previous year, despite near-complete cessation of crushing operations during the quarter.

Total income rose to INR 4,059.7m from INR 3,418.5m, driven by a 75% surge in distillery sales volumes to 21,649 KL. Average sugar realization increased 3% to INR 3,962 per quintal.

Sugarcane availability was significantly impacted by red rot infestations and adverse weather, resulting in lower crushing performance and under-absorption of overhead costs.
