Triveni Turbines launches India's first CO2-based heat pump

Triveni Turbine Limited has unveiled India's first CO2-based high-temperature heat pump, delivering heat up to 122°C with a Coefficient of Performance of 6.

The product offers up to three times greater efficiency than conventional electric and commercial heat pumps. Development was a collaboration with the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.

The heat pump uses carbon dioxide as a natural refrigerant with zero Ozone Depletion Potential and Global Warming Potential of 1. It supports applications including steam generation, pasteurization, and drying for process industries.

The product was tested at Triveni Turbines' new Heat Pump Test Centre in Bengaluru, meeting all performance benchmarks.
