Akzo Nobel India loses GST appeal worth ₹2.9 crores

Akzo Nobel India Limited lost its GST appeal case, with the Commissioner of Appeals upholding the Telangana GST Department's demand for ₹2.9 crores plus interest and penalty.

The ruling, dated July 17, reverses an earlier relief granted to the company. The case stems from an original demand of ₹35.61 crores, which was reduced to ₹21.85 lakhs plus ₹1.98 lakhs penalty in December 2023.

The company is preparing to respond to the adverse ruling within the required timeframe.
