Sigachi reports ₹1bn loss after fatal Hyderabad explosion

Sigachi Industries reported a Q1 FY26 net loss of ₹1,010 million, compared to a ₹128 million profit the previous year, primarily due to an exceptional loss of ₹1,210 million from a dust explosion at its Hyderabad unit on June 30.

The incident killed 46 people and caused an estimated revenue loss of ₹60 crore. Operations at the Hyderabad facility are suspended, with production moved to other facilities.

The company has filed insurance claims but has not recognized any income from these in Q1 results.
