JSW Steel net profit surges 81% in Q1

JSW Steel reported net profit of Rs 2,178 crores for the quarter ended June 30, up 81% from Rs 1,205 crores in the same period last year. Total income from operations reached Rs 31,613 crores.

Consolidated net profit surged to Rs 2,209 crores from Rs 867 crores year-over-year. Basic earnings per share increased to Rs 8.93 from Rs 4.95, while consolidated earnings per share reached Rs 8.95, up from Rs 3.47 in the prior year quarter.
