Hindustan Unilever appoints Priya Nair as CEO; Rohit Jawa steps down

Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) has announced the appointment of Priya Nair as its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, effective August 1, 2025. Nair succeeds Rohit Jawa, who will be stepping down from his role on July 31, 2025, to pursue the next chapter in his professional journey. The appointment follows the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and approval by the Board of Directors at their meeting on July 10, 2025. This transition marks a significant leadership change for the company.

Nair, currently serving as Business Group President – Beauty & Wellbeing at Unilever, brings a wealth of experience to the role. She oversees a EUR 13 billion portfolio that includes Hair Care, Skin Care, Prestige Beauty, and Health & Wellbeing brands across more than 20 markets. With nearly 30 years at Unilever, Nair has consistently delivered business transformation through brand building, premiumization, digital commerce, and purpose-led innovation.

Jawa, in his letter to the Board, reflected on his tenure and highlighted the implementation of "Aspire," the strategic direction for HUL designed to drive competitive growth. He expressed pride in the company's volume-led growth during challenging market conditions and acknowledged the strong foundation laid for the future. He will also cease to be a member of the Risk Management Committee, Stakeholders Relationship Committee, and Environmental, Social and Governance Committee.
