Vedanta reports record alumina production, Zinc International soars

Vedanta Limited reported record quarterly alumina production of 587 kt at its Lanjigarh Refinery, marking a 36% increase QoQ, attributed to improved raw material supply. Zinc India achieved its highest-ever first-quarter mined metal production, reaching 265 kt, a 1% YoY increase. Zinc International's production surged by 50% YoY. The company also noted record ferrochrome production, increased power sales, and a 42% YoY rise in saleable iron ore production. Overall power sales decreased YoY by 10% to 4,289 million units, but increased QoQ by 11%. The Phase-1 (300 MW) of Meenakshi power plant is now operational. The company also reported that it remained committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 or sooner.
