Shipping Corporation of India expands fleet with VLGC acquisition

Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) announced today that it has executed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on July 4, 2025, to acquire two second-hand Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGCs). The vessels will add a cargo carrying capacity of approximately 82,000 CBM to SCI's fleet. The company expects the VLGCs to be inducted into its operational fleet during the current quarter of fiscal year 2025-26. This acquisition aligns with SCI's business expansion plans and is intended to augment its overall tonnage capacity. The announcement was made in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
