Bharti Airtel faces penalty for subscriber verification lapses

Bharti Airtel (BSE:BHARTIARTL) announced that it has received a notice from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Karnataka LSA, regarding alleged violations of subscriber verification norms. The DoT has imposed a penalty of INR212,000 on the company following a Customer Application Form (CAF) audit conducted for April 2025. The audit, intended to ensure compliance with licensing terms, identified discrepancies in the subscriber verification process. Bharti Airtel, committed to regulatory compliance, has opted to pay the penalty without contesting the decision. This disclosure is in accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
